The Alentejo and Ribatejo Regional Tourism Board (Turismo do Alentejo ERT) has just launched the second wave of the ‘Alentejo Não Se Explica, Descobre-se Com Vagar’ campaign. Aimed at attracting the domestic market and encouraging visits to the destination during the autumn months, this phase of the initiative focuses on the diversity of tourism experiences available at this time of year.
Production is by New Light Pictures, with creative direction by João Viegas. The initiative was launched on 17 October and will run until the end of November across television, on generalist and thematic channels; digital, through social media; search engines, with display and video formats; and outdoor advertising, with a presence on digital and traditional MUPIs.
“The domestic market continues to be extremely important for Alentejo and, with this campaign, we aim to strengthen our communication with the Portuguese. This is a time of year when we have an Alentejo that is even closer to people and more connected with them, more exclusive, belonging to each of us, ideal for a shorter holiday or a getaway,” says José Santos, president of Turismo do Alentejo ERT, quoted in a press release.
“The second wave invites people to discover a more intimate, inspirational and sensory Alentejo, where time slows down and every experience takes on a new dimension. Between nature, the coast at the end of summer, culture, the landscape and wide-open spaces, we created a universe of serenity and contemplation in which the territory reveals itself,” concludes João Viegas of New Light Pictures.
This is not the only recent campaign promoting the region. Delta, for example, recently concluded its latest wave of national campaigns with the ‘Há muito Alentejo em Delta’ campaign, while the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission has been promoting local wines.
