Nova Expressão has once again been a member of APAME (Portuguese Association of Media Agencies) since March, at a time when the industry is facing major changes with the resulting challenges, fundamentally related to technological innovation.
A founding member, Nova Expressão ceased to be part of APAME in 2019 due to some divergences within the scope of relations with stakeholders. Pedro Baltazar, as Nova Expressão’s representative, was, until that date, Chairman of the General Assembly Board for successive terms and maintained those same functions in the following terms, but as representative of Powermedia, the purchasing centre of which Nova Expressão is a member.
According to Pedro Baltazar, this return by the agency of which he is CEO and Founder “has as its main objective the union of all media agencies around a single association, which would make it possible to ensure a stronger position, greater capacity for intervention in strategic matters and greater presence in the media, thereby giving greater prominence to this industry.”
APAME includes the majority of Portuguese media agencies and purchasing centres, while APEIP (Portuguese Association of Advertising Investment Management Companies) also exists, having been created in 2013 by two multinational agency groups following a split over the association’s governance methodology.
