The two agencies, which together employ around 70 people, will keep their operations separate. Ricardo Pereira remains CEO of comOn.
Nova Expressão SGPS has acquired 52% of the share capital of digital marketing agency comOn, Pedro Baltazar, owner of the media agency and now also majority shareholder of the agency founded in 2001 by Ricardo Pereira, told +M.
The purchase is being carried out through a capital increase in comOn, explains Pedro Baltazar, sole director of Nova Expressão and, from now on, chairman of the board of directors of the digital agency.
The operation is moving forward “for a number of reasons”, but the most important is to enable “development in terms of artificial intelligence and a greater import of technology into Nova Expressão”. The two operations remain “absolutely independent”, but with synergies when necessary, the executive continues.
The remaining 48% remain in the hands of Elemento Digital – Consultoria, Marketing e Desenvolvimento Informático, SA, which until now held 100% of comOn, SA, with Ricardo Pereira remaining as CEO for the next term.
The two agencies together employ around 70 people and, it should be recalled, Filipe Teotónio Pereira leads the media agency.
Nova Expressão, Pedro Baltazar continues, thus strengthens its media ecosystem, which includes stakes in Nova Expressão – Planeamento de Media e Publicidade SA, the largest independent agency in the first 11 months of 2024, PowerMedia, SA and Local Planet International, Lda.
